1. What is a 'holiday home showcase'?

Our 'holiday home showcases' are completely independant, professionally designed web pages aimed at holiday home owners who want to effectively promote their properties and ultimately increase bookings throughout the year.

The process is easy... you place an order, send us your property details and photos, we build your page, you review it and it then goes live for all to see!

Our experience in search engine optimisation (SEO) enables us to maximise the visibility of your property so that you can be found on Google and Yahoo. Without this, your property is more than likely lost in the crowd and you could be missing out on potential bookings every week.

It's important to note that we are a design company, not a holiday let agency and we are not looking to replace the online system that you currently use. We recognise the value in these and we are merely providing an attractive and surefire method for showing off your holiday accommodation to the full which you can use independantly or as additional advertising.

2. What are the benefits?

In a nutshell, if your self-catering property is presented in a professional light, it will attract more potential guests and therefore bring in more bookings and interest.

By having a quality online presence or by linking to your 'showcase' from your regular listings elsewhere, you can offer full details of your property, highlight the selling points, target specific audiences and create more interest overall.

Your showcase shouldn't replace any existing listings that you have elsewhere but it offers the ability to say whatever you want without restrictions and 'sell' your property's best features to the full.

3. Will I have my own domain?

Quite simply, yes!

  • If you have already registered a domain name, we can use this for your showcase.
  • If you don't have one, we can register a suitable .co.uk domain name (where available) and will help you with the process.
  • If you have no idea what a domain name is, we speak non-computer talk!

Fees for domains will apply if we register the domain name for you at a rate of £12.00 per two year registration for a .co.uk domain. Initial fees will be due with the final balance of your showcase and the renewals will then be invoiced every two years, one month prior to expiration.

4. How much does it cost?

Our single page 'Holiday Home Showcase' as per example is just £99.95 in total and includes the following:

  • Text (as much as you need but we do advise against 'over-doing it'!)
  • A maximum of 11 photos (375 x 300 pixels which we will size)
  • Google interactive map for your location or area
  • Local area info (which we can help with)
  • Link to your existing online booking agent / system if you have one
  • Your contact details
  • Booking information

Once built and paid for, your showcase is yours and we do not charge annual renewal fees for the page.

Fees for domains will apply if we register the domain name for you at a rate of £12.00 per two year registration for a .co.uk domain. Initial fees will be due with the final balance of your showcase and the renewals will then be invoiced every two years, one month prior to expiration.

We can offer the facility of a simple 'Availability Calendar' for your property and we will be adding details of this soon. Please email us for details of costs etc in the meantime.

We also offer a full bespoke design service so if you'd like more than one page or would like to update your existing on, just let us know.

5. How do I order?

Ordering is easy and we do the hard work!

Just follow the steps on our 'How to Order' page and then sit back whilst we create your 'Holiday Home Showcase'.

6. How do I pay?

As soon as we receive your order, we will issue an invoice for the deposit due along with instructions on how to provide your property details via email.

Work will begin on your showcases once the deposit, photos and content have been received. Once you 'holiday home showcase' is completed, approved and goes live, an invoice will be issued by email for the remaining balance which will be due within 10 days of the invoice date.

Payment can be made by:

  • Bank Transfer (BACS) - PREFERRED
  • Cheque
  • PayPal (which will incur an additional £3.25 fee)
 

7. How do I prepare my text and photos?

We'll send you details with your order confirmation but please use the following guidelines and supply content via email:

  • Text should be in Word format, spell-checked and final version if possible
  • Photos should be sent in JPEG format, minimum dimensions 375 x 300 pixels, maximum size 2MB. No blurry pictures please!
  • Graphics should be sent in JPEG or GIF format, maximum file size 1MB
  • The full URL for your existing booking agent / system should be provided

If you are struggling to understand what we mean, don't panic! Just let us know and we can help you.

8. I don't think I can write an effective text description, what should I do?

Whilst we prefer our clients to write their own property descriptions, we appreciate that this may be difficult for some. For a small additional fee of just £20.00 per property, we will write an interesting and informative description for your showcase based on the information that you supply. Just send us as many details on your property and the local area that you can and let us know that you would like some help in improving it. Your final invoice will include the £20.00 fee.

9. What are keywords and SEO and how do these attract target audiences?

Don't worry! If this is all Greek to you, this is where we come in and you don't need to worry about this aspect at all. We will ensure that the relevant keywords are incorporated into your page to optimise the property for the search engines. It's all complex stuff and although you can attempt it yourself, we are experienced in SEO and are here to help.

10. I'm no photographer and I don't know anyone who is, what are the options?

One of the main selling points of your showcase will be the ability for potential guests to see what your property looks like so we do always recommend that you provide good quality photos of all interior and exterior areas of your holiday home.

If you don't have a camera or can't get good shots, try a friend, family member or neighbour or engage the services of a professional photographer if you can. If you are located near to Gosport in Hampshire, we may also be able to help.

Photos should:

  • Be in focus!
  • Be bright (take on a sunny day if possible or turn lamps on)
  • Focus on your property's best features
  • Show the main areas of the property at the very least - kitchen, lounge, main bedroom, outside space
  • Not show any clutter or unsightly things (remove remote controls etc)
  • Not include people
  • Be up to date
  • Be interesting

If you really are at a loss and don't have any photos to send, we can source stock photography images to suit your location and property and these are sourced based on the individual property each time.

Stock photography images are photos taken by individuals that are available online for a relatively small fee. They are high quality images for use on websites and although they are not sole use images and may be used by other websites, it is rare to see the same image and we will try to source photos that are more unique and will not be seen everywhere!

Costs for the source and supply of stock photography images range from £4.50 per image used and we will ask you to approve them to ensure they are suitable. If you want to source and provide your own stock photography images, please let us know. We do not charge an additional fee for this.

11. Can I update my details at any time?

Unfortunately not! To keep our costs so low, it is not possible for you to update your holiday home showcase yourself but updates are quick and easy.

Just send us an email with:

  • Your showcase URL (www.)
  • Your name
  • Full details of the changes to be made

We will not charge for minor edits to your page (small text changes etc) unless they become regular. For more time-consuming changes to your showcase, we will supply a quotation first to ensure you are happy with the additional costs and these will always be minimal. We will endeavour to make changes within 5 working days.

12. Can you get me to the top of the Google list?

The simple and honest answer is that whilst we will do all we can to get you on the first page of Google, we cannot offer guarantees. However, we are experienced in search engine optimisation and our track record is very good so far. We will do all we can to optimise your showcase during the development stage which will gain you a higher position but results will depend on the competition.

As an example, our Client Showcase appears on the first page of Google (at the time of writing) if you search for 'cottage kingsbarns' which is the result that the owner was trying to achieve.

13. How do I contact you if I have a question?
